Art should be accessible to all

We believe that art should be enjoyed by all, regardless of age, ability, or access needs. We are committed to making our gallery, exhibitions, events, and website as accessible and welcoming as possible for everyone.

Visiting the Gallery

  • There is direct access to the gallery from the street, with just one small 5cm step/ledge on entry. This is suitable for wheelchairs, and a ramp is available for any electric wheelchairs which need additional help. The access to the rest of the gallery is step-free, including access to a ground floor toilet.
  • Chairs can be made available on request.
  • The exhibiton space is clearly lit and artworks are labelled with full artwork details.
  • Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the gallery.
  • Large-print exhibition guides and information are available on request.
  • We are always happy to provide assistance during your visit.

If you have specific access requirements, we encourage you to contact us before your visit so we can discuss how best to support you. Please email johanna@glasshousecontemporary.com.

Website

We are committed to ensuring our website is accessible to as many people as possible. We aim to follow recognised accessibility standards and continually improve the user experience by:

  • Using clear, readable fonts and sufficient colour contrast.
  • Making the website navigable using a keyboard.
  • Supporting screen readers where possible.
  • Designing pages that work across a range of devices and browsers.

While we strive to make all content fully accessible, some content may not yet meet current accessibility standards. We are actively reviewing and improving these areas.

Feedback

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of our gallery and website. If you experience any barriers or require information in an alternative format, please contact us using the form below. We will do our best to respond promptly and provide the information or assistance you need.
