Through a Glass, Darkly | 2nd - 31st May 2026

In her dreamlike monochromatic palette, Fiona Fouhy leads us deep into the woods. She asks us to immerse ourselves in the tactile, sensory experience of the forest. From the grand scale of ancient trees to the intimacy of tiny mosses and lichens, she creates a sense of awe and wonder and demands we pay attention.

This new collection of paintings, etchings and monotypes examine the cyclical rhythms of the world around us, the idea of deep time and the process of looking. Emerging as an important symbol throughout, the circle references the ‘ceaseless round dance of the cosmos’, as well as a key element of Fiona’s creative process - the lens. A tool which can bring us closer to the environment or allow for a wider view, it also distorts what we see. In this exhibition Fiona embraces the strange-ness of these imperfect viewpoints, alongside her sensory exploration of forests near and far.
