In Beau Roberts's debut solo exhibition ‘That Feeling’, he explores how painting can describe more than what we see in front of us. Immersive oil paintings are charged with an emotional intensity, as he employs vibrant colour and shifting forms to express his personal, sensory responses to the landscape and beyond. 

This new collection of paintings is anchored in the spaces, people and objects Beau is closest to. Shaped by familiarity, intimacy and memory - these subjects allow a framework for him to move beyond literal representation. He is not interested in a faithful description of what he sees, but fascinated instead by the idea of pinning down his emotional response to the subject, bringing a sense of mood and energy to the work.
