May Flowers

Elizabeth is an artist from Cornwall whose work traverses the boundaries of fine art, illustration and craft. She is from a long line of creative craftswomen who have harnessed alternative materials to create works full of narrative - her mother a wooden automata maker, and her grandmother a ceramicist.

Her work acts as a visual outlet for dialogues that exist within the individual and wider society. Handling humanistic themes, she creates characters loosely gleaned from Cornish folk tales and her own life, to tell stories that exist within her community. The works speak to a sense of self, place and the relationship between the two.
