Portals | Daniel Freaker

5th June - 5th July 2026

Through Daniel Freaker’s hallucinatory colour and expressive mark-making, we travel to otherworldly landscapes. This new collection of works takes us on a journey without a fixed destination, and it is this sense of travelling through liminal spaces which interests Daniel. Each painting acts as a pause, a passing point of discovery. We enter a semi-fictitious world suspended in time, where architecture meets botanical wilderness. Forms hint of human presence, carrying traces of memory and imagined futures.

There is a tension in these spaces between the defined and the undefined, the urban and the wild. This is reflected in the creative process itself, as structure appears and slips away again. Compositions are restless and full of movement. Surfaces remain open and active, with drips, runs, and shifting marks holding a sense of things still forming - never quite settled, always in motion.
