Fly Past
Fly Past
These very special multi-layered cyanotype prints on laser cut plywood are fitted to wooden plinths and displayed within a deep white wood box frame, behind low reflect art glass. As the light changes throughout the day, the shadows of these three birds shift and move across the white background.
The framed size is 71cm w x 55.5 cm and it is ready to hang.
Each day Jane walks. Out into the garden, along the high street, around the green
spaces that surround the town where I live. Many, many steps. Walking gives Jane a chance to observe, enjoy and visually record the things that mean so much to her. Plants and flowers breaking out from between paving slabs or the base of a brick wall. Sparrows
chirruping joyfully from the roof of a nearby building. A group of town pigeons taking off
with a clatter of wings. These small things are part of what enriches Jane's life - her every day rituals.
The Artist
The Artist
Connection to the natural world is central to Jane’s practice and she is a passionate advocate for sustainability and climate awareness. Based in Essex - the trees, landscape and creatures around her are a constant source of inspiration and joy. She playfully explores a variety of original and alternative printmaking techniques such as cyanotype, linoprint, photopolymer etching, anthotype and lumen printing. These processes allow her to experiment with texture, mark-making and colour, whilst often leading to ‘happy accidents’ and resulting in unique, bold and evocative representations of our shared planet.
