Glasshouse Contemporary is an artist-run, contemporary art gallery in Clapton, East London. With a strong visual aesthetic and love of interesting mark-making, we platform artists who embrace play and curiosity – firmly believing in art’s ability to transform, transcend and elevate.

At the heart of Glasshouse is passionate advocacy and support of exciting emerging and established artists. Alongside our exhibition programme we represent 28 artists from near and far, working across the disciplines of painting, original printmaking, collage and drawing. An ever-changing curation of their artwork adorns our limewashed walls, in our plant-filled and friendly space on Lower Clapton Rd.

On Reflection | Hannah Davies

Exhibition 3rd October - 1st November

A Cornwall-based painter, Hannah uses translucent layers of oil paint built up slowly. She observes fleeting moments of pattern, shape and colour as light reflects on glass. This new collection of work studies the ephemeral beauty of light as it interacts with surface - softening the physical barriers we construct and bringing the wild, natural world closer.
